Waiting for the sunset

Earth is not just a simple planet. It has small others planets on it. Not countries, but Planets, Universes. I myself have been on “Planet China”, “Planet Japan” or as right now, “Planet Tahiti”. Only these three I have discovered by now as “other planets”; the other places I've been traveling in, were just Countries. Nice ones, but Countries.

...Ah... It could be “planet New York” or “planet Paris” but these are in fact just examples of “PERFECTION even if on Earth”. Both very different. And greaaaat! (Quickly: if you have to travel someplace and you can't decide, but there are just TWO places that you are allowed to go in your entire life, go in Paris and New York! ... And maybe Tokyo also... So negotiate for three! Try at least!)

I am right naming it”planet Tahiti”! Everything is different. The prices for example. They must bring food from out of space considering it is so bloody expensive! Three times more than Paris sometimes! And their money: they are huge! Probably in order to compensate with the huge prices. The banknotes are so big that they can't fit in an regular size wallet. And the coins seem the size of an gold medal! You are a winner just by buying something and receiving some change.

And the light. The light is different. The day is shorter, it gets dark at only 6pm, all of a sudden, just after the sun gets down hiding after Moorea Island, like someone turned off the light...

But the sunsets are something special. I take pictures of the sunset every single day, fro the same spot, just to compare the light and the colors. And this just makes me regret even more that I do not have a professional camera.

I haven't moved much since I'm here. The area of my interest is still restrained, just around the apartment, on the apartment terrace and till the boarder of the swimming pool that joins the sea; and the other border is the small shop where I go buy little food with big banknotes, just a couple of hundreds meters at the left of the hotel.

I have finished reading a book since I am tanning under the colored-Tahitian-sun (four days); “Never have your dog stuffed” by Alan Alda. And if you'll read it, not only that you'll laugh a lot, but you'll find the advice useful! Great book. Love the actor. Love the man. Just one of the "big human planets”living among us.

By next week I intend o extend my “universe” all the way to the market in Papeete. Where I'll buy a lot of fruits. By the way, speaking of fruits, the grapefruits here are the size of an alien brain - considering that an alien brain is green and a bit bigger than the human one. So in the market I hope to discover other fruits similar with other body parts of my imaginary alien friend.

So, today, April 21 2009, we get to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the day we met, my hubby and I. So, as I was asking, about 7 years ago to a friend who was in a happy-love-relationship for a while, “So, it means Love can last then?!”, well, I found out: YES! And it's strong and good. God bless!
